    Applicants of any nationality are welcome. CDTnet is committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse and supportive research environment and welcomes applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

    To be eligible, you must:

    • Not hold a doctoral degree at the time of recruitment.
    • Meet the academic requirements for admission to a doctoral programme at the recruiting institution.
    • Satisfy the MSCA mobility rule: you must not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, study, etc.) in the country of the recruiting institution for more than 12 months during the 36 months immediately before the recruitment deadline.
    • Have a good command of English sufficient for doctoral-level research and participation in an international training programme.

    Please note that some projects and institutions may have additional requirements, such as particular academic qualifications, technical skills, or local doctoral admission criteria.

  • WHAT WE OFFER

    As a doctoral candidate, you will:

    • Be employed by one of the network's leading academic, clinical or industrial partners.
    • Undertake cutting-edge research in cardiovascular Digital Twins.
    • Receive supervision from internationally recognised experts.
    • Participate in a comprehensive programme of scientific and transferable skills training.
    • Develop expertise in areas including artificial intelligence, computational modelling, medical imaging, clinical translation, entrepreneurship, communication and leadership.
    • Build an international professional network spanning academia, healthcare and industry.
    • Complete international secondments with partner organisations across Europe.
    • Attend network-wide workshops, training schools and conferences.
  • SALARY AND BENEFITS

    Doctoral candidates will be employed according to the rules of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks programme.

    The financial package includes:

    • Living Allowance: €4,010 per month (subject to country correction coefficients).
    • Mobility Allowance: €710 per month.
    • Family Allowance: €660 per month, where applicable.

    In addition, candidates benefit from:

    • Full doctoral enrolment.
    • Social security and employment benefits according to national regulations.
    • Research, training and networking opportunities throughout the programme.

    Actual salary paid will vary depending on the recruiting country, local taxation and institutional employment policies.

    CDTnet offers 15 doctoral projects hosted by leading universities, hospitals and companies across Europe.

We are looking for 15 talented and ambitious doctoral candidates to join CDTnet, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network dedicated to transforming cardiovascular medicine through Digital Twins.

Digital Twins are personalised virtual models that combine biomedical data, artificial intelligence, physiological modelling, and clinical knowledge to improve the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Through CDTnet, doctoral candidates will work at leading universities, hospitals and industry partners across Europe while receiving world-class interdisciplinary training.

Whether your background is in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, biomedical sciences, clinical research or related disciplines, CDTnet offers a unique opportunity to undertake a fully funded PhD while helping shape the future of personalised healthcare.

Recruitment Process

  • INTERVIEWS

    Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview.

    Depending on the project, interviews may include:

    • Discussion of academic background and experience
    • Research presentation
    • Discussion of a scientific article or technical topic
    • Technical or programming assessment where relevant
  • PROJECT ALLOCATION

    Following interviews, projects will rank candidates and candidates will be able to confirm their final project preferences.

    Offers will then be coordinated across the network to ensure a fair and transparent allocation process.
